Welcome to DET2009

Dear Colleagues,

International Conference of Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) aims to provide a forum for academia and industrialists to disseminate, to all branches industries and businesses, information and knowledge on the most recent and relevant innovations, theories and practices in electronic business and digital enterprise technology. Following great successes of past DET conferences in Europe and USA, DET2009 will take place in Hong Kong - Asia's world city where the East has been meeting the West for more than a century. In line with the development of China into the world's largest manufacturing base of, and market for, consumer products, Hong Kong has become an important global and regional logistics hub. This vibrant city also proudly possesses one of the world's busiest container ports.

We are pleased to cordially invite you to submit abstracts and papers on topics about manufacturing enterprises traditionally covered by DET conferences. We would also like to extend our invitation of contributions in the area of logistics and supply chain management, and topics related to enterprises in service and trade sectors. A number of special sessions will be organized on topical themes such as Product Service Systems, Virtual Machine Tools, STEP-NC, RFID Applications and more topics are invited for special tracks.

DET2009 will continue the tradition of best paper award, best paper presentation award, and selecting high quality papers for publication in special issues of several reputable journals. All papers accepted for presentation at DET2009 will be published in the conference proceedings which is indexed in ISI Proceedings (ISTP).

The timing of DET2009 in 14-16 December 2009 is most exciting in Hong Kong. Traditionally, the City and its shopping centers are readily decorated throughout December for Christmas which is one of the most celebrated festivals. December is also probably the best season to visit Hong Kong with a comfortable weather, dry and bright, temperature ranging between 10 and 25 C.

We are looking forward to seeing you at DET2009 in Hong Kong.
